Multimode-Converged Reconfigurable RF Front-End Design

Abstract: The rapid evolution of 5G/6G/Wi-Fi multi-network coexistence and the proliferation of intelligent IoT terminals have positioned reconfigurableRF front-ends with multi-band convergence capabilityascritical components for enhancing spectral eficiency and reducing hardware costs.This paper presents an innovative reconfigurable architecture for multimode-integratedRFfront-end IC design,addressingkeylimitationsofconventional systems including hardware redundancy,excessive power consumption,and limited flexibility.Building upon our team's technical expertise in broadband tunable matching networks and reconfigurable RFarchitectures,the proposed design features: (1) a reconfigurable matching network enabling simultaneous LNA/PA multimode operation, (2)an adaptivebias PAarchitecturewithdynamicanalog predistortion fortransmitchaineficiencyoptimization,and(3)anintegrated reconfigurable out-of-band suppression network for enhanced interference immunity. Silicon verification and volume production results demonstrate that our highly integrated L-PAMiF module achieves seamless n77/n79 band convergence, delivering 39% higher integration density and significantly simplified RF solutions for mobile devices. Simulation studies confirm the technology's extensibility to 5G n79/6G U6GHz dual-mode operation and Wi-Fi 7/5G NR multimode convergence.This work provides practical technical foundations for next-generation 6G/5G/Wi-Fi multimode RFsystems and establishes a valuable design paradigm for future universal multimode communication ICs.
