Impact of Introducing a Specific Percentage InterferenceProtection Criterion forIMT Systems on Compatible CoexistenceDistance

Abstract: This paper establishes a quantitative relationship between the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR),throughput loss,andaspecific probability.It thenderives the criticalsignal-to-noiseratio (SNR)forboththe downlink (user equipment,UE) and uplink (base station,BS) under a 5% throughput loss constraint. Assuming that SINR is uniformlydistributed within a givenrange,the interval proportion method is employed tocalculate the allowable probabilityunder thecondition of I/N⩽-6 dB.Simulationresultsshow that the probability of meeting performance requirements is 93.41% for the downlink and 97.34% for the uplink.Furthermore, coexistence simulations between fixed service (FS)and IMT systems demonstrate that introducing a specific-probability protection criterion can shorten the protection distance,thereby improving spectrum utilization while maintaining communication performance.
