Analysis of Spatiotemporal Characteristics of Urban Particulate Matter Pollution Using Satelite Remote Sensing AOD and Ground Monitoring Data Fusion

Abstract:Inrecentyears,theacelerationofurbanizationhasledtoincreasinglyseriousairpolutionproblems.Inorder toaccuratelymonitorthespatiotemporalchracteristicsofpolutioninthesudyarea,fivemajorcitiesintheGuanzhongplainof Shanxiprovince,includingXi'an,XianyangandBaojwereselectedasthesudyea.Sateliteremotesensingdataasused to monitorthecontinuousAerosolOpticalDepth (AOD).Basedonthis,thepollutionconcentrationsofgroundparticulatemater such as PM2.5 and PM10 were estimated by inversion,and combined with arandom forest fusion model,the temporal evolution characteristicsandspatialdistributionpattersofparticulatematerpolutioninthestudyareafrom2O2Oto2O24 wereexplored. The results showed that the decrease in PM2.5 and PM10 in the studyarea from 2020 to 2024 was 21.93% and 19.42 % ,respectively. Fromthechangesinmonhlyaveragemassconcentration,thereissgnificantdiferenceinparticulatematerassconcetration betweenmonths.The mass concentrationreachesitspeak in Januaryanddrops tois troughinJuly.The massconcentrationduring thewinterheatingperiodisgenerallatahighevel.Thespatialdistributiontrendshowsthaturbanareasarehigherthansuburban areas.Insummary,themethodproposedinthestudycanefectivelyanalyzethecharacteristicsofparticulatematerpoutionn the region,providing scientific basis for urban air quality managementand polution control policy formulation.
