Experimental Study on the Treatment of Recalcitrant Organic Chemical Wastewater by Fenton Oxidation - Coagulation and Sedimentation Process

Abstract:The experiment used Fentonoxidation-coagulationand sedimentation processto treat recalcitrantorganic chemicalwastewater,byexaminingthechanges inChemical OxygenDemand(COD),theoptimaloperatingconditions for the process were determined.The experimental results showed that when the pH value was 3,the amount of H2O2 solution added was5mL,the amount of FeSO4 addedwas 4.0g ,the reaction time was 3h ,and the amount of Polyacrylamide (PAM) solution added was2 mL,the COD removal rate could reach 66.67% .After Fenton oxidation-coagulation and sedimentation treatment,theratioof Biochemical Oxygen Demandafter5days (BOD)toCODin the wastewater was0.46, andthe biodegradabilityof the wastewater wassignificantlyimproved.Afteron-siteengineeringdebuggingandoperation, the COD removal rate remained stable at 61.78%~69.74% ,and the removal effect was good.
