Effect of Empowerment Theory-based Health Education Combined with Narrative Nursing on Sleep Quality in Patients with Epilepsy

AbstractObjective:Toexplore the practical efectiveness ofealth educationcombined with narative nursing undertheguidanceof mpowermenttheoryinimprovingsleepqualityamong patientswithepilepsy.Methods:Atotalof 8Oepilepsypatientswith sleepdisordersadmited toPutian FirstHospitalfromJanuary2O23 to December2O24 wereselectedandrandomlydivided intoa control groupandanobservation group,with40cases ineach group.Thecontrol groupreceivedroutine nursingcare,hiletheobservationgroup received health educationcombinedwith narative nursing based onempowerment theory.The Pitsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)and Profileof Mood States(POMS)were used to assessleepqualityand emotional status.Seizure frequency was recorded,andtheQualityofLifeinEpilepsy-31(QOLIE-31)wasused toevaluateoveralloutcomes.Results:Afterthe intervention,theobservation group demonstrated significantly beter improvements than the control group in PSQI score( 7.89±0 .86 vs. 9.38±0.98 ),POMS score( 86.37±8.24 vs. 98.45± 8. 46),seizure frequency( 1.21±0.22 vs. 1.54±0.21 ),and QOLIE31 score( 58.35±4.83 vs. 51. 62±4.68 ),with statistically significant differences ( P
