Correlation Analysis between Cerebral Microbleeds and Decreased Sleep Efficiency

AbstractObjective:Thisstudyaimstoexplorethecorelationbetweendecreasedsleepeficiencyandcerebralmicrobleeds (CMBs）,inodertoprovidenewesearchdirectionandcinicalpracticebasisforthepreventionofcrebralsallveldsease (CSVD).Methods:A total of 119 patients with complete cranial MRIand polysomnography(PSG）monitoring at Zoucheng People's Hospital fromJuly2022 toOctober2023 were selectedasstudysubjects.BothPSGandMRIdata wereanalyzed,andclinicalinforatihsercalossallio bodymassidex(BMI）wasrecorded indetail.CMBs were detected through susceptibility-weighted imaging(SWI）andevaluated using the MicrobleedAnatomicalRating Scale(MARS).SleepeficiencywascalculatedthroughPSG,whichistheratioofactual sleeptietototaltimeinbed.Statisticalanalysis methodssuchasmultivariatelogisticregressionwasemploed toprocesand analyze hedata.Results:Afteradjustingforpotentialconfoundingfactorssuchasage,gender BMIand hypertension,multivariate logisticregresionanalysisshowedthatdecreasedsleepeficiencywassignificantlynegativelycorelatedwiththeoccurrenceof CMBs ( P=0.022 ).Inaddition,ageand hypertensionhave been identifiedas independentrisk factors for CMBs.The clasification analysis of the location of cerebral microbleeds showed that there was a statistically significant diference( P=0.003 ）between deepcerebralmicrobledsanddecreasedsleepeficiency,wereastherelationships withlobarandinfratentorialmicrobleedswere notsignificantConclusion;Theresultsindicateasignificantcorelationbetweendecreasedsleepeficiencyandanincreasedrisk of CMBs,particularlyindpbrainstructures.Tisdiscoveryhighlightsthepotentialimportanceof improvingslepqualitynpreventing cerebral small vessel disease,and points out new directions for subsequent research and clinical practice.
