AbstractObjective：ToexploretheefectofChineseherbalhotcompresscombinedwithacupointmassage interventiononimproving sleepqualityandpain levels inpatients with lumbardisc herniation（LDH）.Methods：Atotalof 8 patients with lumbar disc herniationadmitedtotheRehabilitationDepartmentof XiamenTraditionalChinese Medicine HospitalfromJuly2O22 to July 2023 were selectedas the studysubjects.They were dividedintoacontrolgroupandan observation groupusingarandom number table method，with43cases ineachgroup.Thecontrolgroupreceivedroutinenursing intervention，whiletheobservationgroupreceived Chinese medicine hotcompresscombined with acupoint massage intervention.The Ptsburgh SleepQuality Index（PSQI） wasused tocompare thechanges in sleepqualitybeforeandafterintervention between twogroups.The Visual Analogue Scale （VAS）wasused tocomparetheimprovement efectofpainbeforeandafter interventionbetweenthetwo groups.Aself-developed TCM symptom scale was used to assess symptom improvement between the two groups.The Japanese Orthopedic Asociation （JOA）scale wasused toevaluate thelumbar spine functionbeforeandaftertreatmentbetweenthetwo groups.The Health Survey Brief（SF-36）wasused tocomparetheimprovementofqualityof lifebeforeandafterinterventionbetweenthe two groups.Results：After intervention，bothgroupsshowedreductionsiSQIscores，VASscores，ndTCsptomscoresihthe observation group significantly lower than the control group（ P<0.05 ）. Both groups showed increases in JOA scores and SF-36 scores，with the observation group significantly higher than the control group（ P<0.05 ）. Conclusion：For LDH patients，Chinese herbal hotcompress combined withacupoint massge canreduce pain，improve sleepquality，enhance lumbar function，andincrease quality of life，facilitating accelerated recovery.
