Study on durability of composite coating material for concrete guardrail of highway bridge

Abstract:In order to improve the safety and stability of highway bridge concrete guardrail and prolong its service life,a composite coating material was prepared by using carbon nanotube,waterborne epoxy emulsion and liquid sty⁃ rene-butadiene rubber as the main raw materialsin this experiment,and the effect of liquid styrene-butadiene rub⁃ ber mass content on the performance of the composite coating was analyzed. The test results show that when the con⁃ tent of liquid styrene-butadiene rubber in the composite coating increases,the hardness of the coating decreases, and the mechanical properties and erosion resistance increase first and then decrease. When the mass content of liq⁃ uid styrene butadiene rubber is 3% ,the mass loss of the composite coating in the erosion test is the smallest,which is 0.002g ,and the erosion resistance is the best. At this time,the hardness grade of the material is H,the tensile strength is 46.82MPa ,the elongation at break is 8.16% ,and the composite coating shows good aging resistance. In summary,the 3% liquid styrene-butadiene rubber composite coating with mass content has good hardness,mechan⁃ ical properties and durability,which can be promoted in the application of steel structure protection of bridge con⁃ crete guardrail.
