The Application Status, Problems, and Suggestions of Research Methods in Education Doctoral Dissertations in China

AbstractThrough statistical analysis of 248 doctoral dissrtations inthe field of education in China from 2014 to 2022,it was foundthattheresearchmethodsusedindoctoral dissertations ineducationshowedadiversifiedtrend,but there were also many problems and shortcomings: the expression of research methods was not standardized enough, the level ofresearch methods was notclear enough,the understanding of the connotation ofresearch methods was not suficient,and the proportion of mixed research methods used was not high.Thereasons forthese problems include: special ientityinability totruly engage incourse learning; Diferentlevels of studentsources result indiffreces in research abilities;Lack of practical experience and insuffcient proficiency in mastering research tools.In this regard, practical training courses should be oferedto strengthen targeted training; Enhance the awarenessofwriting standards and reform the evaluation methods of the curriculum; Offering quantitative research courses to enhance thedepth of empirical research; Promote innovative research methods and advocate the use of mixed research.
