Abstract：Thispaperpresentsateachingmethodologythatintegrateshistoricalearthquakeinformationintothecourseof EarthquakeEngineering toenhancetheinterestandteachingqualityofthecourse.Theearthquakeengineeringcoursesbasic situationadeacingcontentareintroucedighligtingecharacteristicsofrongthoryandisufcientinteresstical earthquakes，theirrelationshipwiththecoursecontent，andtheirinfluenceontheteachingareanalyzed，notigthattheurnt teachingdoesnotsuficientlyintegratehistoricalearthquakeswiththecoursecontent.Toaddressthis，teachingobjectives， methods，casestudies，andasessmentapproachesareproposedforthehistory-drivenearthquakeengineeringcourse.Additioaly theprospects for this teaching methodology are discussed.
