Abstract： "Three-North Spirit" is a precious spiritual wealth formed by the people of Northwest， North，and Northeast China through long-term practices in desertification control and ecological management. It embodies the values of shouldering missions bravely，fearing no hardships and making persistent efforts.This article begins with the formation background and scientific connotation of the "Three-North Spirit，" demonstrates its spiritual power through typical personal stories， and focuses on exploring the pathways and strategies for promoting， educating，and inheriting the "Three-North Spirit" in higher education institutions.Inheriting this spirit in universities involves integrating it into classroom teaching and ideological-political education. Through practical teaching， such as establishing practice bases and organizing student participation in practical activities， its impact can be strengthened.Additionally， efforts should be made to enrich campus cultural atmosphere and deepen theoretical research.In summary， higher education institutions should adopt multi-dimensional approaches such as "listening，observing， reading，speaking， doing，and researching" to internalize the "Three-North Spirit" as part of young people’ s value pursuit. This will cultivate a sense of mission among the youth to contribute to the ecological security of Northern China and the sustainable development of the country.
