Abstract： This article focuses on the modernization process of contemporary Chinese society and critically examines the long-standing instrumentalist tendency in ideological and political education： neglecting the inherent needs of the educational object as a "human"; The phenomenon of ignoring the issues of subjectivity and value. This tendency has encountered severe challenges in contemporary times， such as weakened effectiveness， alienation of identity， and lack of sense of meaning. Its root cause lies in the fact that instrumentalism ignores the reality of the subject， evades the ethical responsibility of the educational process， weakens the humanistic care of education， and dilutes the ideological leading role of education，resulting in a "value void" and "humanistic deficiency" in the educational process. The modernization and reshaping of ideological and political education lies at the core of advancing from "instrumental rationality" to "value rationality"， from "shaping tools" to "achieving subjects"，and ultimately realizing the modernization transformation of ideological and political education from instrumentalism to humanistic care， clarifying its core values and theoretical growth points.
