Abstract： In response to the current social confusion and misinterpretation of the concepts of "lying flat" and "Buddha-style"，this paper analyzes the essential differences between the two from the perspective of Buddhist culture and harmonious culture. The study holds that "lying flat" stems from passive avoidance of pressure，manifested as giving up efforts and self-pursuit; while "Buddha-style" is rooted in the dialectical unity of "diligence and progress" and "wise leting go" in Buddhism，as well as the value pursuit of harmonious culture that "all beauties share beauty， and the world is in great harmony". It is a life attitude of maintaining inner detachment while being proactive. Through an interpretation of Buddhism’ s atheism， equality outlook and the core connotation of harmonious culture，this paper reveals their internal agreement in advocating rational cognition，inclusive coexistence and altruistic spirit. This paper aims to clarify the true connotation of "Buddha-style"， pointing out that it is not a variant of "lying flat"， but a positive way of life with traditional cultural deposits，which is of practical significance for guiding contemporary youth to establish a healthy value orientation and promoting social harmony.
