The Cultivation Path of Applied Undergraduates' Intercultural Competence under the Belt and Road Initiative

Abstract: Against the backdrop of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) continuous advancement, intercultural competence has become an indispensable core quality for applied undergraduates. From the perspective of cultural diversity and intercultural interaction, this paper deeply analyzes the core issues existing in the current cultivation of intercultural competence, such as the superficiality of cultural cognition,the narrowness of curriculum content,and the insufficiency of cultural practice. By systematically reviewing the cultural characteristics and intercultural challenges of countries along the Belt and Road route,it proposes a cultivation philosophy centered on "cultural infiltration," constructing a cultivation framework comprising three dimensions: deepening cultural cognition, fostering cultural affect,and practicing cultural behavior. This study aims to cultivate internationally competent applied talents with cultural understanding, adaptability, and communication skills through the deep integration of cultural content and educational practice, thereby providing talent support for the Belt and Road construction.
