Simulation test of short-term loss of prestress in the outer tank of LNG storage tank

Abstract:The outer tank of theLNG storage tank is aprestressed concrete structure,due to the creep of the concrete and the stress relaxationofthe steel strand,the prestressed structure will produce prestress loss,inorderto cope with the adverse efects of this phenomenon on the structural safety,the prestress loss was studied through structural simulationand field tests.Taking the outer tank ofalarge LNGstorage tank in China as theresearch object,thesimulationandfieldtestofvertical andcircumferentialprestresslosss werecarriedout.Thefiniteelement model was establishedbyusing the finite element software,and the application of prestress was simulated by the temperature difference method,and theshort-termandlong-term simulations werecarriedoutrespectively.Inthe actualstructureof theconstructionsite,aprestressmonitoringsystem wasarranged,andtheareas with large loss values inthe simulation results were found for observation.Theresults of experiment,simulationand standard calculation were comprehensivelyobserved,and the stress changes ofvertical and circumferential prestressed tendons in diffrent parts were analyzed,andthe feasibilityof predicting long-term prestress loss based on short-term simulation results was proposed.
