Exploration of a new guiding technology for groundwater pressure control in slope landfills

Abstract:In order to solve the problem of groundwater pressure control and management in slope landfils,a new guidance technology based on chemical engineering technology was discussed.Through field tests at a solid waste landfill in Jiangxi,the application effctsof superabsorbentpolymers(SAPs)and bentonite in groundwaterpressure control,soil stability improvement,water flowregulation,and long-term stabilityand durabilitywere analyzed indetail.The experimental results showed that the application of SAPsand bentonite significantly reduced groundwater presure,enhanced theshear strengthand stabilityof soil,and effctivelyregulated groundwaterflow rateand water level fluctuation.The conclusionsof this studyprovideanew solution for groundwater presure management in slope landfill,and put forwarda new perspective for the application of chemical technologyin thefield of environmental engineering.
