Study on the mechanism of high-temperature stability of TPU compound SBR modified asphalt

Abstract:In order to improve the high-temperature performanceof styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR)modified asphalt,thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU)was selected to perform composite modification.Three major index tests and Brookfield viscosity testswereusedto testitsphysical propertiesand viscosityrespectively.Themodification mechanism was then revealed byFT-IR analysis.Finaly,the high-temperature stabilityand water stabilityof the composite modified asphalt mixture were investigated using rutting tests and immersion Marshalltests,respectively. The results showed that compared with SBR modifiedasphalt,the penetration and ductilityof the compositemodified asphalt decreased,and the softening point,elastic recoveryrate and viscosity increased.New characteristic peaks appeared in thecomposite modifiedasphalt,and TPUreacted with theasphalt after being mixed with SBR modified asphalt,which could significantly enhance the high - temperature performance of SBR modified asphalt. Compared with SBR modified asphalt mixture,the dynamic stability and residual stabilityof composite modified asphalt mixture were increased,and TPUcan improve the high temperature stabilityand water stabilityofSBR modified asphalt mixture.

丁苯橡胶(SBR)作为强化北方地区沥青路面的低温抗裂能力以提高路面服役寿命及服役质量的绿色材料,其成本较低,掺入少量的SBR即可显著增强沥青低温抗裂性[1-2]。(剩余5879字)
