Preparation and performance research of modified carbon fiber composite materials for intelligent safety equipment cabinets

Abstract:In order to improve the mechanical properties of carbon fiber composites for inteligent safety equipment cabinets,thecarbon fibers were modified,and thesurfacemorphologyof nickel hydroxidemodifiedand dopamine modifiedcarbon fibers,the contact angles with epoxy resin,and the mechanical properties of thecorresponding carbon fiber composites were compared and analyzed.The results showed that the surface ofboth nickel hydroxide modified and dopamine modified carbon fibers had obvious changes compared with those of unmodified carbon fibers, which was reflected in the increase of surface roughnessThe contact angles between unmodified and modified carbon fibers and epoxy resins were: CF>CF-Ni(OH)2>CF-PNi .The interlaminar shear strength of carbon fiber composites would be increased compared with that of unmodified carbon fiber composites after nickel hydroxide modification and dopamine modification of carbon fibers,and the increase was more than 50% .Afternickel hydroxide modification and dopamine modification treatment ofcarbon fiber,the transverse tensile strength ofcarbon fiber composites would be increased to varying degrees,with an increase of 101.45% and 128.99% ,respectively. Overall,the interlaminar shear strengthand transverse tensile strength ofthe modified carbon fiberare improved to varying degrees,and the modification efect of the dopamine modified carbon fiber composites is the best.
