V on the Effects of Fire Needle Therapy on Postherpetic Neuralgia Patients and Its Impacts on Sleep Quality

AbstractObjective：Toverifythepractical valueandapplication prospectsoffireneedletherapy inimproving theanalgesic efectsand sleepqualityof postherpetic neuralgia throughcomparativeexperiments.Methods：Atotalof8OpatientswithpostherpeticneuralgiaadmitedtotheDermatologyDepartmentofTheFirstPeople'sHospitalofJi'nanfromJanuary2O22toDecember 2023 were selectedas the studysubjects.They wererandomlydivided intoacontrol groupandanobservation group，with 40patients ineachgroup，using arandomnumbertablemethod.Thecontrol groupreceivedelectroacupuncture treatment，whiletheobservation groupreceivedfire nedle treatment.The Pitsburgh Slep Quality Index（PSQI）was used tocompare thechanges in sleepqualitybetween two groupsbeforeandafter intervention，andthe Visual Analog Scale（VAS）wasusedtocompare the improvementeffectsofpaininthetwogroupsofpatientsbeforeandafterinterventionThefrequencyofpainatacks，durationof pain，andrecurrencerate wererecordedandcompared.Results：Afterintervention，thePSQIscoresand VASscoresoftheobservationgroup weresignificantlylowerthanthoseof thecontrolgroup.Thefrequencyanddurationofpainatacksintheobservation groupwere significantlylower thanthoseinthecontrol group.Therecurencerateofthetwoobservation groups wassignificantly lower than that of the control group，and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant（ P<0.05 ） . Conclusion：Fireneedetherapyhassignificantadvantagesinimprovingtheshort-termandlong-termtreatmentefectsandcorecting sleepdisorders in patients with postherpeticneuralgia.Itssafetyisrelatively idealand has positiveapplication prospects.
