Effect of Ultrasound-Guided Stellate Ganglion Block Combined with Evodia Rutaecarpa Acupoint Application on Postoperative Sleep Quality in Elderly Patients

AbstractObjective：Toivestigatetheefectofultrasound-guidedstellteganglionblock（U-SGB）combinedwithEvodiarutaecarpa acupoint aplicationonpostoperative sleepqualityin elderlypatients.Methods：Atotalof 86 elderlypatientsundergong laparoscopic surgeryatLanzhou Second People's Hospital between August2023and August2O24 wereselected andrandomly dividedintoacontrolgroupandanobservationgroup，with43patients ineach group.Thecontrolgroupreceivedcombined intravenous-inhalation generalanesthesia duringsurgery.Theobservation groupreceivedthesameanesthesia protocolplus U-SGBbefore anesthesiaandEvodiarutaecarpaacupointapplication15minutesbeforesurgery.Perioperativeserumbiomarkers[interleukin-6 （IL-6），5-hydroxytryptamine（5-HT），corticotropin-releasing hrmone（CRH）]，sleepquality[PisburghSleepQualityIndex （PSQI）]，andcomplications werecomparedbetweenthetwo groups.Results：At24hourspostoperatively，IL-6and5-Hlevels weresignificantlyincreased，and CRHlevels decreased inboth groupscompared with preoperativelevels.Theobservationgroup had significantly higher 5-HT levels and lower IL-6 and CRH levels than the control group（ P<0.05）. The PSQI sub-scores for sleep disturbance，sleep latency，and sleepduration werelower inboth groups at24hours postoperativelycompared tobaseline， with the observation group scoring significantly better than the control group（ P<0.05 ）.The total incidence of complications （nauseaandvomiting，cognitivedfunctionaythiaryhema，etc.）wasalsosignificantlylowerinthebservationgoupan in the control group（ P<0.05 ）.Conclusion： Compared with conventional combined intravenous-inhalation anesthesia，the additionf U-SGBandEvodiarutaecarpaacupointapplicationinelderlypatientsundergoing laparoscopic surgeryefectivelyimproves postoperative sleep quality，stabilizes serum biomarkers，and demonstrates better safety.
