Abstract：Againstthe backdropof populationaging，optimizing thecolorenvironmentofresidences isofgreat significance forimprovingthequalityoflifeoftheelderly.Inviewofthevisualcharacteristicsof theelderlysuchasdecreasedvision， poorcolordiscriminationabilityandfearofstronglight，aswellastheirpsychological needs forsecuritybelonging，and positiveemotions，this papersystematicallconstructsseveralprinciplesthatneed tobefollowed inthecolordesignofelderly residences.Theseprinciplesincludefourkeypoints：safetyfirst，functionalityforemost，emotionalcareandcomfort，aswel aspersonalization andinclusiveness.Special emphasis is placedonusing strong colorcontrasts toensurewalkingsafetyusing diferentcolors todistinguish rooms foreasyrecognition，andusing soft colors to maketheheart felcomfortable.Basedon this，thispaperproposesacompleteimplementationpathcoveringtheprelminaryassessment，satialonngstrategymaterial selection，lighting coordinationand detailedapplication.This research aims to providedesigners withboth scientific and operationalsuggestions，promotethehumanzedimprovementofthelivingenvironmentfortheelderlyandtrulyhelptheelderly live a better life.
