Abstract：TheDunhuang muralsofthe prosperous Tang Dynastyrepresent hepeakachievementsofChinese Budhistart.Their colorexpresionartdemonstrates uniqueaestheticvalueandculturalconnotationat thevisualcommuicationlevel.This article delves deeplyintothesymboliclanguage system，decorativecompositionrules，emotionalexpresion mechanismandiovative development of thecolorsin theDunhuang murals of theprosperous Tang Dynasty from the perspectiveofvisual communication. Research has found thatthe murals ofthe prosperous Tang Dynasty created a sacred atmosphere through resplendent colors， produced decorative visual efects byusing the blending techniques ofChineseand Western elements，and conveyedreligious emotions through subjectivecolortreatment.This multi-dimensionalapplicationofcolornotonlyreflects theaesthetic pursuit andculturalconfidenceoftheprosperousTangDynastybutalsodemonstrates thematurityandinovationofthecolorlanguage in traditional Chinese painting.
