[Abstract]Primary Sjogren's syndrome (pSS) is a chronic autoimmune disease, mainly characterized by exocrine gland dysfunction, with clinical manifestations such as dry mouthanddry eyes. Its pathological mechanism is complexand involves multiple abnormalitiesofthe immune system.Inrecent years, indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO),as a key enzyme regulating immune responses, has gradually attracted the atention of researchers.IDO may play a significant role in the pathogenesis of pSS through mechanisms such as regulating Tlymphocyte function, influencing the behavior of fibroblasts and endothelial cels, catalyzing the tryptophan metabolic pathway, and participating inautoantigen exposure and autoantibody production. This article aims to review the mechanism of IDO in pSS,analyze its potential role in theoccurrence and development of the disease, and look forward to future research directions and therapeutic targets.
