[Abstract] Objective: To explore the effect of virtual reality rehabilitation training on nerve function, lower limb motor and balancefunction and lower limb muscle tension of stroke patients with lower limb hemiplegia duringthe recovery period.Method:A total of 89 stroke patients intherecovery period with lower limb hemiplegia admitedtothe SecondAfiliatedHospitalofNanchang UniversityfromMay2O22 toAugust2O24wereselected. Patients were randomly divided into an observation group (45 cases)and a control group (44 cases) using the random number method. The control group received conventional rehabilitation interventions, along with isokinetic musclestrength trainingonthe hemiplegic sideofthelowerlimbs, andonthis basis, theobservation groupreceived virtual reality rehabilitation training. The NIHSS,Fugl-Meyer assessment of lower extremities (FMA-LE),Berg balance scale (BBS)scores, and lower limb muscle tone grading before and after 4 weeks of rehabilitation training between two groups were compared.Result:Before training, the scores of NIHSS,FMA-LE,and BBS between the two groups were comparable ( P; >0.05);after 4 weeks of training, the NIHSS scores of both groups were lower than those before training,whiletheFMA-LEandBBSscores were higherthan those before training,after4 weeksof training, the NIHSS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, while the FMA-LE and BBS scores were higher than those of the control group ( P <0.05).Compared to those before training, there were no significant diffrences inthe tension of thequadriceps femoris and tricepscrus muscles in thetwo groups after 4 weeks of training ( P >0.05); compared to the control group, there were no significant differences of the tension of the quadriceps femoris and triceps crus muscles in the observation group after 4 weeks of training ( P >0.05). Conclusion: Virtualrealityrehabilitation training can improve theneurological function of stroke patients with lower limb hemiplegia during the recovery period, improve their lower limb motor and balance abilities, and have good rehabilitation training effects, and it does not increase the risk of myodystony.
