新农科背景下植物生物学课程体系改革实践探索

Abstract: The "New Agricultural Science" initiative represents a core strategy for higher agricultural and forestry education in China to address global challenges such as food security, climate change, and sustainable development. Its essence lies in promoting the deep integration and innovation of cutting-edge technologies with traditional agricultural disciplines. This study tackles the long-standing practical dilemmas in the Plant Biology curriculum, including an outdated knowledge system, singular teaching models, and rigid evaluation mechanisms. Guided by the core principles of "system reconstruction, competency orientation, and industry-education integration", we conducted systematic teaching reform practices. The reform breaks through the traditional linear knowledge transmission framework of "morphology – physiology – classification" and constructs a new modular curriculum system driven internally by the "understanding of plant life systems" and externally by the "demands of modern agricultural industry chains". Simultaneously, an online-offline blended teaching model was implemented, and a diversified process-oriented evaluation mechanism was established. Through a one-semester quasi-experimental teaching study, combined quantitative and qualitative research methods demonstrated that students in the experimental class significantly outperformed those in the control class in academic achievement (p<0.01), knowledge integration and application abilities, systems thinking, and literacy in solving practical agricultural problems. Furthermore, they showed more positive feedback in terms of learning engagement, professional identity, and course satisfaction. This reform verified the feasibility of reconstructing the curriculum system and innovating the teaching model, and provided an operable practical path and theoretical reference for the reform of professional basic courses against the backdrop of "new agricultural science".
