[Abstract]Objective： To investigate the clinical efect of Vancomycin combined with Meropenem inthe treatmentofchildren with purulent meningitis.Method：A totalof82children with purulent meningitisadmitted to from January 2O22 to November 2O24 were selected.The groups were grouped according to thecoin-tossing method.The control group （n=41）received Meropenem treatment， the experimental group （ n =41） received Vancomycin combined with Meropenem treatment.The therapeutic effects，serum indexes levels [S- ⋅100β ，neuron-specific enolase （NSE），CRP，procalcitonin （PCT），TNF -α L symptomimprovement （disappearance timeof increased intracranialpressure，convulsions，antipyretic time，recovery time ofconsciousness），adversereactions （elevated liver transaminase，diarrhea， vomiting）of the two groups were compared.Result：The total efective rateof the experimental group was higherthan thatof thecontrol group （P<0.05） . After 14d of treatment， the levels of serum S- 100β ，NSE， CRP， PCT TNF- α in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group （P<0.05） . The disappearance time of increased intracranial pressure convulsions，antipyretic time，recovery time ofconsciousness inthe experimental group were earlier than those in the control group （P<0.05 ）.There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups （P>0.05） .Conclusion：Vancomycin combined with Meropenem in children with purulent meningitiscanimprovethetherapeuticeffect，acceleratethedeclineofserumindexes，shortenthetimeforsymptom improvement， issafe.
