[Abstract] Objective： To study the efect of total laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer in the treatment of rectal cancer.Method：Retrospectively，therectalcancer patients admited to Yancheng First People's Hospital from April2O21to April 2024 were selectedas the study subjects，they weredivided into control group （ n =40，conventional open rectal cancer radical surgery） and observation group （ n =40， total laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer）.Thechanges in clinical indicators between two groups during the perioperative period werecompared，the inflammatory indicator （CRP，IL-6），thequalityof life [EORTC qualityof lifequestionnairecore 30（EORTC QLQ-C3O）]and physical condition [Karnofsky performance status （KPS）]before and after treatment were compared，and calculate the risk ofcomplications between the two groups.Result：The changes of perioperative clinical indicators in the observation group were better than those in the control group （ P <0.05）. After treatment， the levels of CRPand IL-6 inboth groups increased compared with thosebefore treatment，and those in theobservation group were lower than those in the control group （ P <0.05）.After treatment， the EORTC QLQ-C30 scores and KPS scores iboth groups increased compared with those before treatment，andthe scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group （ P <0.05）.There was statistically significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups （ P <0.05）.The incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group （ P <0.05）.Conclusion： Rectal cancer patients treated with total laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancercan improve perioperative clinical indicators，reduce gastrointestinal function damage，lower the degree of inflammatoryresponse，decrease theriskofcomplications，and havecertain improvement effects onthe physical condition and quality of life of patients.
