Effect of Orem Self-care Theory Combined with Acupoint Massage on Constipation in Schizophrenic Patients/WEIJia，WANFang，HUHuanhuan.//Medical Innovationof China，2025，22（30）： 071-076

[Abstract]Objective：To explore the influence of Orem's self-care theory combined with acupoint massage on constipation in patients with schizophrenia.Method：A total of 8O patients with constipation due to schizophreniaadmittedtoJiangxiMental HealthHospital fromJanuary2O23toMay2O24wereselectedand divided into two groups byrandom number table method，with 4O cases ineach group.Thecontrol groupreceived conventional care，while the research group adopted Orem's self-care theory combined with acupoint massage care. The patient-assessment of constipation quality of life scale （PAC-QOL），chronic constipation severity scale （CCS）， social dysfunction score before and after intervention and therapeutic efects of the two groups were compared. Result： After intervention，the PAC-QOL score of the research group was lower than that of the control group （ P <0.05）.After1，2，3 months of intervention，theCCSscoreof theresearch groupwaslowerthanthatof thecontrol group （ P <0.05）.The total effective rate of the research group was higher than that of the control group （ P <0.05）. After intervention，thescores of social functional deficits in theresearch group wereallower than thoseinthe control group （ P <0.05）. Conclusion： Orem's self-care theory and acupoint massage can improve the constipation in schizophrenia patients，improve the intervention effect and improve the quality of life.
