【Abstract】Based on the analysisof the designtheoryof spiral bevel gears forautomotive enginesand in combinationwith theactualrequirementsofcloseddieforgingprocesses,thisarticleselects thecompoundclosed die forming scheme.According tothemechanical propertiesof 45stelandthe materialpropertiesof hotworkingdie steel (4Cr5MoSiV1),The working condition parameters such as the preheating of the hot forging die (temperature 250‰ ), the forging speed of the moving die( 70mm/s ),and the friction coefficient(O.3)are proposed.The manufacturing of helical bevel gearsisachievedbydesigning thecompounddie structure(floating diecore,inner/outerringsof thetooth die)toincrease fluidityand improve molding accuracy,combining the use of pressure pads to reduce compressive stress and gray irondieseats to lower the manufacturing costofthe die,aplying thecompound ejection structure to solve the problemofdiejammingofforgings,andadoptingthecombineddieandspringreturntosolvetheflashproblem.It provides a reliable design theory and manufacturing basis for its high productivityand high surface quality offorgings.
