Abstract:Agricultural mechanizationisanimportantcomponentofagricultural modernization.Potatoesarethefourth largest foodcrop inChina,withalong industrial chain.The machineryof potato productionand initialprocessing playa positive role in the process of industrial development.As the main potato production areas in Chinashifttowards regions with comparative advantages,the northwest and southwest hillyareas have become the main regions for potato production.However,constrained byvarious factors such asspecial terrin,diverse climate conditions,etc, agricultural mechanization in thisregion isrelativelylaging behind,which has become the main factorrestricting thedevelopmentof the potatoindustry,especiallyaffecting theseed potatoes,breeding and supplying.Byanalyzing the aplicationstatus of agricultural machineryinthe potato seedtuber industry chainofhillyareas incentral Gansu Province,which characterizedby significant labor substitution effctsin full-processproductionand marketing,challenges in equipment compatibility,and slowadvancement of terain-adaptive mechanization,along with thecharacteristicsofseedpotatofarming machineryoperation locationadaptability,applicationsuitabilityand mechanization demand of seed potato planting and supply.Itisproposed toaccelerate the processof potato seedand potato agricultural machineryin the central hilly areas of Gansu Province from three aspects such asmoderately advancedresearchand development of suitable supportingagricultural machinery,keybreakthrough of precision manufacturing modular suitableagricultural machinery,and innovation of policysupport mode to promote suitable agricultural machinery application,so as to improve thequalityand benefit of potato industry development.
