Abstract： This paper explores the practice and application of new media technology in ideological and political education in coleges and universities.It analyzes the impact of new media technology on ideological and political education incoleges and universities，elaborates on its current practice in classroom teaching，extracurricular activities，and educational management， and proposes optimization strategies such as improving teachers' competenciesand integrating content with new media，providing references forthe development of ideological and political education in colleges and universities.
