Analysis of the Uyghur Translation of A Dream of Red Mansions under Domestication and Foreignization Strategies

Abstract： As the pinnacleof Chineseclasicalliterature，A DreamofRed Mansions isa work that shows the variousaspects of ancientChinesesocietyfrommultipleangles，withprofoundculturalconnotationsanduniqueatisticstyle.ADreamofRedMansions isalsoknownasamasterpieeofChineseclasicaliteratureandhasanimportantpositionintehistoryofhineseliterature.ChineseandUyghurbelong todiferentlanguagefamiliesandaretwolanguageswithculturaldiferences.Translatorsfacemanychallengesitranslation.Thisarticlewilladoptthemethodof textclosereadingandcomparativeanalysis，selecttypical examplesentencesfromthe UyghurtranslationofADreamofRedMansions，andusedomesticationandforeignizationtranslationstrategiesas theoreticalgudancetodeplyanalyzethetranslatorschoicesofdomesticationandforeignizationtranslationstrategieshntraslat ingtheuniquelanguagefomsandliteraryallusionsinChinese.Explorehowtranslatorspreservetheuniquestyleoftheoriginaltext asmuchaspossblewhileremainingfaithfultoit.ThetranslationofADreamofRedMansionsreflectsthetranslatorstranslation wisdom and provides a reference for the translation of Chinese multi-ethnic literature.
