Abstract:To address the problem of image recognition in sugarcane seed screening machines being afected by lighting conditions,surface colorof sugarcane,and other factors,anautomatic dimming control system was developed to improve the accuracyof sugarcane noderecognition.Thesystemwas built using anSTM32 master control module in conjunction withanRK3588 processing module.Atthefrontend,thesystemcollcteddata from light intensityandcolorrecognition sensors and implementedalight intensity control algorithm.The back-end procesing moduleacquiredand procesed cameraimages,calculated image clarityusing definedmetrics,and provided real-time feedback in the formof PWM illuminationadjustmentparameterstothefront-endmodule.Thisenableddynamicadjustmentoftheillmination intensity.Theexperimental results showedthatthehighest image clarity values,quantified using the Laplace operatorand Sobel operators,were 96.2 for gren sugarcane,61.5 for red,73.1 for black,and109.2 for white sugarcane.The gray valueof theimagesranged froml30to2Oo.In termsofrecognition performance,thesystemachievedarecognitionrate of 99.15% under automatic dimming control,compared to 87% under fixed lighting conditions.The image clarity error remained within 5% :
