Abstract:Aiming attheproblemsof high labor intensityandlowoperation eficiencyof theexistingAmericanginseng seeders in China,anew self-propelled American ginseng seeder has been designed.Basedon theirregularshape and poor fluidity of American ginseng seeds,a cuppedwhel type seedmetering device was selected.Through single-factor experiments,theseed metering wheel wasoptimized,andfinallyaseed metering wheel withthree horizontallyplaced holes and a seed guiding groove inclination of 30∘ was chosen. For the large seeding density of Siberian ginseng on the ridge,a top-push planting device was designed.By developing an auxiliary optimization software,the structural parameters L0 , L1 L2 L3 , L5 , L6 of the crank-rocker mechanism and the cam pushTrod mechanism,as wellas the installation angles φ0 , δ , η2 were determined to be 144mm , 46mm , 134mm , 144mm , 103mm , 93mm , 60∘ , 58∘ ,and 90∘ respectively.Field trials have shown that the machine has a dropout rate of 10.16% ,a re-sowing rate of 4.52% ,and a qualified rate of 85.32% :
