Analysis of the Epidemiological Characteristics of Foodborne Disease Outbreaks in Mianyang City from 2021 to 2024

Abstract: Objective: To analyze the outbreak of foodborne diseases in Mianyang city from 2021 to 2024, to understandthecharacteristicsoffoodborne diseases in Mianyang city,andto provide directions for the prevention and controlof foodborne diseases.Method: The events reported by the foodborne disease surveillance outbreak system in Mianyang cityfrom2021to2024 werecolected,andthedescriptive epidemiologicalmethod wasusedforanalysis.Result: From2021 to2O24,atotal of443 foodborediseaseicidents werereported inMianyang city,with1743casesof illness and 1 death, with an average incidence of 3.93 cases per case, a incidence rate of 22.12% .Foodborme illness events were concentrated in the third quarter; he maintriggering factors were the accidental ingestion and misuseofwild mushrooms, and the causative factors were fungi and their toxins, accounting for 56.43% of the total reported events and 39.99% of the total number of cases,respectively. The main places of occurrence were families,accounting for 77.65% of the total number ofincidents.The scaleof theincident waslessthan10people percase,butere were2 incidents with more than30 people, both of which ocurred on campus,meeting the standard for reporting public health emergencies. Conclusion: Relevant departments should actively publicize the knowledge offood hygiene prevention and control of wild mushroom poisoning through various channels,andat thesame time increase thesupervisionof schools,childcare institutionsand othercatering establishments, so as to reduce the probability of foodbome diseases in Mianyang city.
