The Setting of Flood Limit Water Level during the Period of Langzhuchong Reservoir and the Utilization of Flood Resources

Abstract In order to solve the problems of flood control, water storage, and irrigation water resource scheduling in the double cropping rice planting area of Yiyang City, and to achieve the safe utilization of flood resources, taking the Lanzhuchong Reservoir in Heshan District of Yiyang City as an example, this paper studies the meteorological and hydrological characteristics of the reservoir, the water storage and supply situation of the reservoir, analyzes the shortcomings of traditional scheduling methods, and studies the dynamic water level setting of the flood limit water level of the Lanzhuchong Reservoir in different periods. The results show that by dynamically setting the flood limit water level in different time periods and setting a dynamic flood limit water level of 75.11~76.11 meters in the later stage of the rainy season each year, the Lanzhuchong Reservoir can increase its water storage capacity by more than 158600 cubic meters, providing more than one comprehensive irrigation water source for farmland in the irrigation area, alleviating the shortage of irrigation water sources and the contradiction between flood control and reservoir development in Yiyang City, and providing reference services for decision-making in water resource scheduling in the region.
