Analysis of Land Use Change Based on Policy of Returning Farmland to Forests and Grasslands

—A Case of Guyuan City

Abstract This paper uses the methods of intensity analysis and change component analysis to quantitatively analyze the land use intensity of Guyuan City from 1990 to 2020 in terms of change component， interval level， category level and transfer level. The results indicate that： （1） Between 1990 and 2000， land use change was mainly characterized by quantitative changes， while between 2000 and 2020， it was mainly characterized by displacement changes. （2） Under the two rounds of Grain for Green and grassland policy， the intensity of land use change in Guyuan City first increased and then decreased. At the level of category， construction land and cultivated land showed an active state， and grassland showed a stable state. （3） At the transfer level， grassland is most inclined to be converted into forest land， and the increase of grassland area mainly comes from cultivated land.
