Abstract Chinese traditional meteorological culture was an important part of Chinese traditional culture. In the Chinese traditional meteorological culture， meteorology has a close relationship with agricultural production， medicine， literature and art， military politics， folk culture， philosophy and other aspects of ancient times ， forming a rich cultural connotation. The organic integration of meteorological science popularization with China’s traditional meteorological culture can give China’s traditional meteorological culture a new connotation when global climate instability is intensifying， meteorological disasters and extreme events of weather and climate are increasing， and the contradiction between man and nature is deepening. In the new media era， the dissemination of Chinese traditional meteorological culture through various media and means of meteorological science popularization can promote the work of meteorological science popularization. With the continuous progress of science and technology and the continuous development of society， the integration of meteorological science popularization and traditional Chinese meteorological culture will have more innovation and development.
