Analysis of Spatial Characteristics of Hourly Precipitation during Typhoons in Ningbo City

Abstract Accurately predicting typhoon precipitation is of great significance for meteorological disaster prevention and reduction. Using historical typhoon data from 2010 to 2021 and data from eight national meteorological observation stations in Ningbo, Zhejiang, explored the hourly precipitation distribution characteristics brought by typhoons within a 700 km range of meteorological stations. The results showed that the impact of typhoons on precipitation at meteorological stations was mainly concentrated within 400 km of each station, and there were 1~3 precipitation centers within 200 km of each station; It was 300~400 km away from the southwest side of the meteorological station, and there was a heavy to rainstorm center; Distant distances from meteorological stations can also result in significant precipitation. The precipitation within 400 km was mainly caused by strong typhoons, while the outer perimeter was generated by weak typhoons.
