Research on the Promoting Effect of Ideological and Political Education in Mental Health Education Courses on the Happiness of College Students

AbstractObjective: To examine the effect of implementing ideological and political education incolege students' mentalealth educationcourses on promoting their sense ofhappines.Method: Using educational experimental methods, an experimental group and a control group were set up to implement curriculum ideological and political education and conventional teaching methods,respectively.Pre-and post test designs were adopted to measure students'sense of happiness and its five dimensions including positive emotions,engagement, interpersonal relationships,meaning,and achievement using the PERMA Happiness Scale. Result: The post measurement scores of the experimental group were significantlymproved,andthe improvement inoverallhappine,meaning,achevement,andlifesatisfctionwasore significanthan thatof thecontrol group.Conclusion: Compared with conventional teaching methods,the ideologicaland political education ofcolege students' mental health education courses can effectively enhance their sense of happiness, especially in terms of their sense of meaning and achievement.
