Comparison of the effects of fertilizer and Polygonum cuspidatum residue on the growth and development of 27-month-old Polygonum cuspidatum

Abstract:In2022,usingPolygonumcuspidatumresidueandchemicalfertilizerpotassumsulfateasbasefertilizersrespectively,fter27monthsofieldcultivatio,theabovegroundagronomic raits,singleleafsurfacearea,stomatalumber,medicinalcooent contentoftheotsystem,andsoilwater-solubleaggregatesofPolygonumcuspidatumweredeterminedThefreshanddryweightsof theabove-groundpartswere measured,andtheproportionofeachpartwscalculatedtoanalyzetheeectsofchemicalfertlero tasiumsulfateorPolygonmcuspidatumresidueonPolygonumcuspidatumcultivation.Theresultsshowedthatcomparedwiththeno fertilization treatment(CK + seed stems),both chemical fertilizer potassium sulfate and Polygonum cuspidatum residue significantly promoted thedry weightof above-ground stems and leaves,plant height,stem diameter,numberof main stem nodes,numberof leaves,andtotalbranchesofPolygonumcuspidatum.Additionally,Polygonumcuspidatumresiduealsosignificantlypromotedthe above-groundfreshweight,singleleafsurfacearea,andsingleleafstomatalnumberofPolygonumcuspidatum,whilechemicalfertilizerpotassiumsulfateonlysignificantlypromotedthefresh weightoflavesandbranchesofPolygonumcuspidtum.Inadition,the contentofpolydatinintherotsystemof27-montholdPolygonumuspidatummetthepharmacopoeialtandards,butthecontentsof emodinandresveratroldidnotmeetherelevantstandards.Thereasnosignificantdiferenceinoilwater-solubleaggregatesnth root system of 27- month-old Polygonum cuspidatum,and only the 2~4 mm aggregate content in rhizosphere soil and MWD(mean weightdiameter)ofPolygonumcuspidatumseedlingscultivatedundertheconditionofPolygonumcuspidatumresidue werelarger. Po lygonumcuspidatumesiduecouldbeusdasbasefertilizerforetuingtothefield,anditsfectasbettrthantatofchcalfer tilizer potassium sulfate.
