Changes starch content in different potato varieties with tuber diameter

Abstract：Thre potato（SolanumtuberosumL.）varieties，namelyAtlantic，Eugene，andHoland，wereusedasmaterialstodeterminethestarchcontentintubersdiferentdiametersandanalyzetherelationshipbetweenstarchcontentandtuberdiameter.Theresultsshowedtattealopectincontenttetreeestedpotatoarietiesassigcantlyighertanteaylosecontentidicat ingthatamylopectinwasthedominantstarchtype，andthecortexwasthemainstoragesiteforstarch.ThetuberdiameterscorrespondingtotheaccumulationpeaksmlosendamylopectincontentsindiferentpartsthethreevarietieswerediferentBeforethe peak，thestarchcontentincreasedwiththeincreasetuberdiameter.Exceptforindividualcases，thediferences instarchcontent betweendiffrentdametergradestubersreachedasignificantlevel，sowingalineargrowthtrendwithagoodcorelation.htuber starchcontentatlanticwasteghest，andthecorelationwithtuberdiameterwasthbest，soitcouldbeusedasakeyobjectfor studying thevariationlawpotatostarchcontent.Meanhile，accordingtothevariationlawstarchcontentintubersthetreeVarieties，it was concluded that there was a positive correlation between starch growth rate and starch content.
