Scanning electron microscopy of antennal sensilla of ten species of ants

Abstract:10antspecieswereselectedasresearch subjects,includingOdontomachus monticola Emery,Ectomomyrmex javanus Mayr,DorylusentalisWesod,AphenogastersurFrel,etramimrinatu(Nner),ycamagaritaeEry Technomyrmexantennus Zhou,Chronoxenus dalyi(Forel),Formica lemaniBondroit,andCamponotus pseudolendus WuetWang. Theantenaeof theantsweredriedthrough gradientdehydration,andthesensillditributedonthescape,pedicel,andflagellumof theanteaewerebseed,potograped,nddentifiedusingasaingelectronmicrosope.Thediferencesinantealsslla amongsubfamilies and genera were analyzed.Theresults showed thatthere were mainlyseven types ofsensillontheantenae Sensilltric(St),ill,sill)),isb),ilfuf),sil miformia(s),andsensill gemmiformium(Sg).Amongthm,sensill trichoidwas themaintypeonantantenae,withawidedistribution,largequantityndtresubtypes.erewerecrtaindierencsintetypesandumbersofntealsensllaaogifer ent taxonomic ranks,which could serve as effective characteristics for ant classification.
