Screening of spawning medium for artificial breeding of Arma chinensis （Fallou）

Abstract：Toscreen thesuitable mediumfortheartificialbredingofArmachinensis（Falou），theovipositionquantity，ggmass concentration，oviposition durationandegg hatchingrateonfour mediums wereevaluated，including kitchen paper，degradableegg trays，gauze，andfreshcorn leaves.Resultsshowedthattheovipositionconcentrationrateon gauze wasthe highest，reaching 95.74% ，which was significantly higher than other media；theoviposition quantitybya single femaleon gauze anddegradableegg trays wassignificantlyhigherthanthatonkitchenpaperandfreshcornleaves，with137.80egsand91.50egs，respectively；there werenosignificantdiferencesintheovipositiondurationandegghatchingrateacrossthefourmedia.Thestorageofthefourmedia showedsignfcantdiferences.Thestorageperiodsofgauzeanddegradableeggtraysweresignificantlylongerthantoseofkitchenpaper and fresh corn leaves.In conclusion，the gauze was the optimal spawning medium.
