Green biocontrol efficacy of different Bacillus strains against cucumber powdery mildew

Abstract:TheeffcacyofBacillsvelezensis(T2),Bacilussubtilis(T),andBcillsmegaterium(T4)againstcucumbrodery mildewandtheirimpactsonplantgrowth,yield,fruitqualityandtheantioxidantsystemwereevaluatedthroughfieldtrials,and three Bacilus treatmentswerecomparedtoachemicalfungicide(T1)andanuntreatedcontrol(CK).Resultsdemonstratedthatall threeBacilus reatmentsectivelysuppressedpoderyldeandehancedplantgrowth,ield,andfruitquality,ithebit ingthemostpronouncedefects.IntermsofdiseasecontrolefcacyTchevedlevelclosetotatofthechemicalfungicideand significantlyoutperformedbothT3andT4.Regardingyield,T1producedthehighestyield,closelyfollowedbyT2.BothTandT2 yieldsweresignificantlygreaterthanthoseofteotherBacilustreatmentsandCK.Simlarly1showedoptimalplantgrowthpefor manceacross measuredindicators,withT2rankingsecond.BothTandT2significantlyexceededT3ndT4,whileal treatments surpassedCK.T2treatmentsignificantlyenhanedkeyfruitqualityparameters,includingsolubleprotein,freeaminoacid,soluble sugar,and vitaminCcontent,comparedtoCK.Furthermore,T2efectivelyincreasedphotosyntheticcapacity,significantlyreduced membranelipidperoxidationlevels,andboostedantioxidantenzymeactivity,demonstratingsuperiorantioxidantperformancerelative to T3 and T4.
