Evaluation of nitrogen efficient utilization of different wheat varieties(lines)in SouthwestWheatRegion

Abstract:Afieldexperimentwasconducted tostudythediferencesofmainagronomictraits,yieldand SPADvalueof36wheat (TriticumaestumL.)varieties(lines)fromSouthwestWheatRegionundertwonitrogenlevelsofnonitrogenapplication(No)and normal nitrogen application (N1,pure nitrogen application rate of 135kg/hm2 ),in order to provide reference for nitrogen-efficient wheatbreding.Basedonthegrainyield,thevarieties(lines)weredividedintothreetypes:highyieldtype,middleyieldtypeand lowyieldtype.Theaverage yieldofhigh yield typewas 7334.60kg/hm2 ,which was1.70 times thatof lowyield type and1.27 times thatofthemidleyieldtype.Basedonyielddiferencsundertwonitrogenapplicationlevels,thewheatvareties(lines)werelssifiedintofourcategies:ual-ficnttye,low-fcienttyp,ig-fcientye,anddualineficnttye.Aogth 10varieties(lines)weredualefcienttpe,6varieties(lines)werehig--icienttype,7varieties(lines)werelow-Nfcint type,andl3varieties(lines)weredual-neffcientype.Teaverageyieldshowedsignificantdiferencesamongtefourtrogfficiencytypes,followingteoderofual-eficienttype,ig-ficenttye,ow-Nfiienttyeanddual-ieffienttefro hightolow.However,nosignificantdiferences wereobservedinspikeletnumber,leaf length,spikelength,andplantheightamong thesefourtypes.Yunmai83,Yunmai80,Chuanmai1648,Yunmai56,Chuanmai84,andYunmai68werenotonlydual-N-fficiencyvarieties(lines),butalsohighyieldvarieties(lines).Consequently,thesevarietiescouldserveasnitrogen-effcientwheat germplasm resources for breeding applications.
