[Abstract]Objective： To explore the application of cone beam computed tomography （CBCT） combined with hot guta-percha vertical compaction inthe treatmentof C-shape root canals in mandibular second molars.Method： A total of 88 patients with C-shape rootcanals in mandibular second molars who received treatment at Ruijin People's Hospital from March 202 to June 2024 wereenrolled.They were grouped bythe ball-touching method，with odd numbersas thecontrol group （n=44）and even numbers asthe observation group （n=44）.The control group received CBCT combined with cold gutta-percha lateral compaction，and the observation group received CBCT combined withhotguta-percha verticalcompaction.Clinicaleficacy，clinical indicators，fillingquality，and complication rates were compared between the two groups.Result： The total effctive rate of treatment in theobservation group washigher thanthatinthecontrol group，thefiling timeofrootcanaltreatmentandthedistancebetween thefilling materialandtheapicalarea wereshorterintheobservationgroupcomparedtothecontrol group，thecorrectfilingrate in the observation group was higher，whilethe underfiling rate waslower compared tothe control group，the incidence of complications was lower in the observation group than that in the control group（ P<0.05 .Conclusion：CBCT combined with hot guta-percha vertical compaction is superiorto CBCT combined with cold gutta-percha lateral compaction inthe treatmentof C-shape rootcanals inmandibular secondmolars.Itsignificantly improves treatment outcomes，reduces treatment time，enhances filling quality，and lowers the incidence of complications.
