A Statistical Analysis of Role Models in Primary School Chinese Textbooks

—Based on the 1992，2002，and 2016Editions Shi Hongyan （School of Education Science，Nanjing Normal University，Nanjing 210097）

Abstract：Rolemodels’advanceddeedsarecrucialforshaping primaryschol students’moralvalues.Asociologicalanalysis comparingthe1992O02and2016editionsofprimarysholChinesetextbksrevealsthfollwingimageevoutioncharacteristics：In naturalatributes，maleoleodelsaveconsistentlyominated，withmaleosgaduallyincreasing.Mostoleodelsareofungor midleage，andChineserolemodelshavealwaysbenintemajorityInsocialatributes，thefoushsshiftedfrom“ancientointed” to“equalemphasisonancientandmoder”，andsocialroleshavebecomemorediverseandbalanced.Invalueorientation，patriotism remainthecorevalue.Thefocushas movedfrompersonalcultivationtofamily-and-countrysentiment，whilebalancing“traditionalnd modernorientatios”Itcaneseenthatolemodels’naturalatributesinthetextbooksaredevelopingtowardbalance，socialrolesare focusing more on ordinary people， and diverse values highlight complete personality.
