Abstract:This paper explores thevisuallanguagecharacteristicsofcolors inillstrationsofprimaryschool Chinesetextbooks, focusingonthreedimensions:basicvisualattributes,emotional expression,andeducationaladaptation.Thecolorsof the illustrationsare mainlycharacterized bymedium-high lightnessandlow puritywithhue matchingadaptedtothetextscenes; positive and negative emotions are conveyed through color tone combinations,and neutral colors play a coodinating role; thecolordesign is gradientlyadaptedto grade-specificcognition,responds totextcontent,andundertakes the functioof aestheticenlightenment.Theresearchshowsthat thecolorsoftextbook ilustrationsneedtoconformtothevisualdevelopment andcognitivecharacteristicsofprimaryschoolstudents,realizetheunityofinformationtransmission,emotionalresoance andeducationalaestheticvalue,provide visual supportfor Chineseteaching,and helpstudents deepen textunderstandingand cultivate aesthetic literacy.
