Abstract： Changes in the automotive industry，the adventof new energy vehicles has caused anunprecedented change in vehicles’enginesandlayout，andithasalsoseverelychangedautomotivedesign’sexistinglogicandaesthetic.Andasacore elementofCMF，colorhasevolvedpastitsroleinbngingbeauty;itsfunctionnowincludes getingsmarter，moreintellient， andmoreconected.Thearticle gives athorough analysis of worldwideand Chinese trendsin theapplicationofcolorto new vehiclesoverthepastseveralyears，anditlooksatnewtechnologicaldevelopments.Fromthiswecanseethatinthefuture， thecarbodycolorwillnolongerjustbestaticvisualsymbolsattheaestheticlevel，butrather willbecomeasmartandalive "interface" with inteligent environmental sensing，energy management，and emotional interaction functions.Article gives designers and researchers full and complete industry observations as well as theoretical knowledge.
